Another wonderful year is behind us, we'd like to to thank the volunteers, sponsors and drop off locations that made this wonderful event so successful! The love you've shown is inspiring!
A personal note from Dana Davis:
We had 181 volunteers this year, that's phenomenal! I
prayed for refreshments; and they were there. It reminded me of Jesus'
miracle with the fish and the loaves. There was SO much food
donated. By donating our surplus, we were able to be a blessing to
homeless ministries throughout the county. Melinda prayed for girls to find
gowns on the first try; and they did! I heard many exclamations of, "The
girls are choosing the first gown they tried on!" I prayed for God to
prepare the girls and volunteers; and He did. There was so much love in the
building that day!
An event like this could never be possible without the
incredible support and a true willingness to serve. Regardless of what
your role was, please know that I treasure what you did for the girls on
Saturday. Know too, that you made a lasting impression on the girls that came
to our door. You helped to make memories - positive, joyful memories. I
hope you received blessings beyond measure from being a part of our day.
Our deep appreciation goes to Melinda, who has done a
tremendous amount of work behind the scenes. Melinda, I truly could not
organize Cinderella's Closet without you. You take care of so many small
details - and big ones! - that no one ever realizes - sometimes not even
myself. Lindsey, thank you for jumping in alongside me. You were a
big help with phone calls and contacts, and putting out fires at the
event. Kam, I appreciate you more than you know. I love how you never
hesitate to take care of any need that arises. Maggie, Lynda, Patti, and
Kathy, thank you for the beautiful job you always do on decorations. It's
because of you that our girls feel special and warm when they first walk into
our doors. Your lovely touch is something I personally look forward to
every year. And I know I'm not alone with that. Colette and your
registration team - I don't know what else to say, besides, "You all
ROCK!" Lauren, you were awesome working on photos this year! I can't
wait to see the slide show you put together! Lea, you were incredible with
our refreshments! Kathy, your alterations team was phenomenal! Every time I
passed your door, you were all working diligently to ensure our girls had
dresses that were perfect. Rich, Corey, and John, you were amazing
helping us transport gowns.
You KNOW I couldn't have done it without you! Thank you!
We'd also like to thank the beautiful Dana Davis that started this event 6 years ago and grew it to the amazing event it has become today. Hundreds of girls have beautiful memories of their prom to carry with them for the rest of their lives thanks to all of her tireless efforts.
See you next year! ♥

2013 Cinderella's Closet Prom Dress Event is only 8 days away!
* Donations - Please
have ALL donations turned in no later than Wednesday, Jan. 30. It's
important that we have everything we need when we begin setup on Friday at
10am. Several people committed to donating tablecloths, shower curtains
& hooks, mirrors, and /or gorgeous girl gowns. We need those things
ASAP. You can drop off donations to various locations. Inverness: Cornerstone Baptist Church Venero

Crystal River: Nick
Nicholas Ford; The Hagar Group.
* Refreshments - If
you have not already signed up to bring refreshments, and you are going to,
please let me know what you will be bringing. We are anticipating about
200 girls coming this year. If they each bring just one person with them,
that means 400 on site. That's a lot of people! We are still pounding
the pavement trying to get refreshment donations. Depending on
what you bring, you can drop them off Friday (setup starts at 10am); or bring
it with you to the event.

Turn Dresses Into Dreams
Cinderella's Closet
provides formal wear to girls who could not otherwise afford to
attend
their prom. Through donations of new and gently used formal dresses and
accessories,
we are able to "Turn Dresses Into Dreams" for juniors and seniors with a valid school ID. Even more than a dress, Cinderella's
Closet provides an unforgettable, amazing experience. From the moment our
princesses dance through our doors they are greeted with an environment of
grace, love and respect. It is our mission that they leave knowing they
are cherished.
The event is less than 2 weeks away girls I hope you're ready!!

Volunteers & Donations Still Needed!
* Volunteers - We have over 120 volunteers this year! And we still need at least 20 more.
* Donations:
1. Gorgeous Girl Gowns - size 20 and up - We only have FOUR right now and usually don't have enough when we start with 24! (HIGH NEED!)
2. Floor Length Mirrors (borrow or donate)
3. Rhinestone Jewelry
4. Dressing Room Items (Black plastic tablecloths 54x108 $1 at Dollar General; Feminine fabric shower curtains & clear round hooks)
5. Refreshments (Because we expect many girls again this year, we need refreshments. If you can bring something, please do. If you are a part of an organization that would like to help, ask if they can provide some refreshments. Last year we had to go several times to get more food. I know this event is not about refreshments, but we want this day to be a pleasing, memorable experience from the time they walk to our door, to the time they leave.)
* Posters for decoration "Beautiful" by Mercy Me - Take a look at the YouTube video. I'd love for us to have several reminders to tell the girls that they are beautiful. You can write it in any fashion, any size. Small notes; paper size; poster size. If you look at the video, you will get some ideas.
Thank you to so much to those of you for attending our volunteer meeting today, for all the donations we've received so far and for your dedication to this wonderful event!!
